What Insurance Should a Bishopthorpe Plumber Carry?
DM Plumbing Services, a family run York plumbing and property maintenance business, covers general plumbing in Bishopthorpe and the surrounding areas. DM Plumbing Services holds public liability insurance of 2 million pounds, which covers damage caused while work is being done rather than the repair itself.
What happens if something goes wrong with the work?
It covers the damage, not the repair: a joint that fails and floods a ceiling. DM Plumbing Services holds public liability insurance of 2 million pounds. Asking is reasonable and answering it is easy.
The small jobs are where it earns its keep. One loose fitting behind an appliance can ruin a floor while you sleep. Insurance is what stands between that and your own pocket.
What is a reasonable call out fee?
The only reasonable call out fee is one you were told about in advance. Whether it comes off the final bill matters more than the number. DM Plumbing Services charges none, and quotes the work free and without obligation.
Can you have an outside tap fitted in Bishopthorpe?
It is a branch taken off the cold supply inside, run through the wall to an external tap. What counts is what sits between the two: an indoor isolating valve and a backflow prevention device.
That indoor valve is how you empty the outside tap before winter. Water left in it freezes, and the split is rarely somewhere convenient. Outside taps are on the DM Plumbing Services service list.
Is it worth replumbing a house?
It is worth it when the existing pipework keeps failing, when it is lead, or when floors are already up for other work. Doing it while the floor is already lifted costs a fraction of doing it later as its own job.
Does a washing machine need a plumber?
Done properly it takes minutes, and done badly it takes a floor with it. An isolating valve, a properly seated fill hose and a waste that will not jump out. Machines vibrate, and vibration finds anything loose.
Most appliance floods start at the waste. Depth matters: too far siphons, not far enough lets go. DM Plumbing Services covers dishwashers and washing machines.
